#737 Calla Lilies and Butterflies in Pacific Grove (study) Down by Lovers Point, in Pacific Grove, CA, someone planted calla lilies along the coast. One day I was driving down the waterfront and was struck by the mass of beautiful white calla lilies and the Pride of Maderia blooming in the spring. I painted a plein air painting, but I wanted to do more. So this soft pastel came out of my idea. This was so much fun, I am working on a larger version of this study for an art show.
