Media: Pastels on sanded pastel paper

#900 Wave After Wave This is the 4th in my exploration series of wave pastel paintings. I painted this from a photo I took at Lover's Point in Pacific Grove, CA on the Monterey Bay. This one was painted on Artspectrum sanded pastel paper. I put a light coating of pastel on the paper then gave it an alcohol wash to set the pastel. After that dried I began adding pasel to the paper. It is an interesting technique and one I will do again! The under painting can be seen in the 2nd photo.
