Media: Mixed media acrylics & pastels

#707 Sand Dunes and Cypress These sand dunes are near Monastery Beach just south of Carmel, CA. The natural grasses cover some of the dunes and the coast is visible in the distance. I created with with a mixed media process, by doing a variety of paint strokes, stamping, sponging, etc. with thinned acrylic paints. Then on top of this I worked the negative & positive spaces to create the scene. Lastly, I worked with soft pastels on top. It was a fun process to try. The second photo shows how this painting might be framed. It should be framed under glass or plexiglass. NOTE: This painting has been reworked from an older version.
