#404 Salinas Valley Lettuce Farm I was able to be one of the artists who were allowed to paint in the lettuce fields in Salinas, CA as part of a fundraiser for Nativadad Hospital. It was an amazing day. The fields were planted with what the farmer called “Spring Mix” with four types of lettuce in a row to make harvesting easier. Such color! It was fun exaggerating the colors. On the right you can see a photo I took at the farm from a different angle. I later did a larger pastel from this oil painting study. This painting was on display in Salinas in a show called “Salinas Valley: Past, Present and Future” at the Salinas Center for the Arts and Culture, Salinas, CA, (near the John Steinbeck Museum) through August 5th 2019. #404 Salinas Valley Lettuce Farm I was able to be one of the artists who were allowed to paint in the lettuce fields in Salinas, CA as part of a fundraiser for Nativadad Hospital.
